For most of history, the female form was seen as divine and she was idolized. Unfortunately, throughout the years she has been forgotten. It’s time to find the goddess within us once again.

Over the last century, the goddess has slowly begun to reawaken in the unconscious and conscious minds of the western culture. Now, the goddess isn’t restricted only to the billions of people in Asia and Africa who worship her. We are also connecting to her divine nature and letting it manifest from inside.

All the masks of the goddess and god energy live within us including the divine aspect. By taking on her power, you are connecting with a part deep down inside yourself. By empowering yourself, you’re able to evolve. We are all divine, but many of us have forgotten how wonderful and creative we really are.

Here I’ve included a list of goddesses and the best way to connect to them. You’ll find the best colors, stones, and scents, to wear depending on which goddess you’d like to connect with. I’ve also suggested different activities for you to do to connect with the goddesses. I teach women various techniques in Goddess Workshops.

History of the Goddess

As far back as 25,000 BC, the Goddess was worshiped. It was a matriarchal society and the mother was considered the sole parent of children. Ancestry was determined through the matriline.

They made sculptures of women made of stone, bone, and clay. Many of these images depicted pregnant women and were found throughout Europe and the Near East, more specifically: Spain, France, Germany, Austria, and Russia. The people from these tribes traveled to North America and formed the American Indians.

Fast forward to 2500 BC and the Goddess was still worshiped. In fact, she continued to be worshiped until the Hittites seized Babylon and the male dominated priesthood influenced the culture.

In 1103 BC, the Assyrians rose to power and “married” their god to Goddess Ishtar in order to assimilate the cultures. Worshipers of the Goddess had to practice their beliefs in secret and many of them fled.

Images of the Goddess were discovered dating back 7000 BC in lands remembered today as the homeland of Judaism and Christianity.

While many cultures continue to worship the Goddess today, she is once again re-emerging in the Western culture.

Finding the Goddess Within: 2012

Much speculation exists about what is to happen in 2012. Some venture to say the Goddess/God energy will become balanced. As history shows us, women were once revered. Now, we live in a male dominated society. In 2012, the female energy may rise up again.
